Abstracts of title to land in Santa Clara County, 1911-1925.

Abstracts for portions of land within the San Ysidro Rancho summarize transfers of deeds, as well as mortgages, articles of incorporation, and legal actions. Two vols. concern lot 5 and part of lot 4 (Sturla subdivision). An undated sketch map attached at the end of the first vol. features the Ferguson and Fellam tracts. A third vol. concerns lot 9 and part of lot B of the Fellom tract. Many transactions involve John Gilroy, the namesake of the city of Gilroy, who acquired the land through his marriage to Maria Clara Ortega, sister of the original claimant, Quintin Ortega. Other individuals frequently mentioned include John L. Ferguson, John A. Fellom, Angelo Sturla, John B. Allen, and Anne M. Randolph. A fourth vol. for lot 11 of the Las Animas Rancho summarizes transfers of deeds, as well as articles of incorporation. Many of these transactions occur between the Las Animas & San Joaquin Land Co. and Miller & Lux. Includes undated sketch map.
